About Dark Spots
What is skin hyperpigmentation?
Skin hyperpigmentation are darker marks or patches that appear (often on the face, but anywhere on the body) where there is excess melanin produced. It can also appear more generally as uneven skin tone.
Who experiences skin hyperpigmentation and why?
Skin hyperpigmentation can affect anyone -- all ethnicities, skin types, genders and ages – and it is very common. Sun exposure, hormone changes, certain medications, such as birth control, and acne or other skin trauma (resulting in post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or PIH) are often the causes.
Should I be concerned about dark marks on my skin?
Skin hyperpigmentation is often harmless. However, if you have a dark mark that is concerning, speak to a healthcare provider.
What can I do about dark marks on my skin?
The easiest and gentlest option is a topical skincare routine that contains ingredients to help visibly reduce the appearance of dark marks, while evening out skin tone, texture, and complexion. How does Restorative Elements work?
Each product in the Restorative Elements routine contains a proprietary blend of niacinamide (vitamin B3), centella asiatica and licorice root, along with other important skincare ingredients customized for each step of the routine. The routine is formulated to work together, consecutively, to help fade the appearance of dark marks and brighten skin tone. Use it twice a day as directed for best results.
How often should I use the Restorative Elements routine?
Our routine is gently formulated and safe to use both morning and night as your daily skincare regimen. Follow package directions.
Is there a particular order in how the Restorative Routine should be used?
Yes, the products are designed to work together, consecutively.

Do I need to use all the steps to get results with Restorative Elements?
The Restorative Elements routine is clinically tested and designed to work together. Each product of the stepped routine is meant to target different aspects of hyperpigmentation and skin complexion concerns to achieve the best results. When should I start seeing results?
Dark spots took time to appear and they take time to fade, and each person’s spots are different. Our clinical testing using the Restorative Elements routine showed results as early as two weeks in some participants, however, the average time to start seeing noticeable results is typically at around 6-8 weeks of daily use of the three-step routine (use as directed). My dark marks have faded, can I still use Restorative Elements?
Our routine not only helps fade dark marks and hyperpigmentation, but also brightens the overall complexion, evens out skin tone, helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles and helps to prevent future hyperpigmentation, so continued use is recommended, particularly if you are more prone to dark marks and patches.
Will Restorative Elements products irritate my skin?
Each Restorative Elements formula is dermatologist developed and has been formulated to be gentle enough to use as your daily skincare routine twice a day as directed. As with any new skincare routine, you may have some initial response, so test on skin before full application. If you experience lasting skin irritation, discontinue use and consult a doctor.
Do any of the Restorative Elements products contain hydroquinone?
No. None of the Restorative Elements products contains hydroquinone. Our formulas use a proprietary blend of niacinamide (vitamin B3), centella asiatica and licorice root to help reduce the visibility of dark marks and spots gently and safely.
Is Restorative Elements designed to also reduce my acne and/or acne scarring?
The Restorative Elements routine can fade the dark spots and marks caused by post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), which is often a result of acne and/or other skin trauma. Can I use Restorative Elements on more than just my face?
Dark spots and patches often occur beyond just the face. While the Restorative Elements routine is designed with facial skincare in mind, it can be used on other areas of the body where dark spots and patches can occur like the shoulders, neck, back of the hands, and chest.
Is Restorative Elements safe for women who are pregnant or nursing?
As with any new skincare product or routine, check with your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or nursing.
Will Restorative Elements help my melasma?

How does the subscription work?
You can subscribe to any Restorative Elements product at any time directly on the product detail page, just select subscribe & save option and product size and you will automatically be billed and shipped product every 90 days. If you are purchasing the routine and you select the 30 day supply trial size, approximately 3-4 weeks after your first order is shipped, and then every 3 months thereafter, you will receive the full size routine (more savings!), unless you cancel.
Do I need to subscribe?

Can I only buy Restorative Elements online?
Yes. Restorative Elements is currently available online only.
Is it possible to only buy only one product in the routine?
Because each product is formulated to work together and made with ingredients to target different aspects of skin hyperpigmentation, we recommend the routine for best results. However, you can purchase each product separately. There is an option to select just the single product as you shop our product page.

When will my subscription be delivered, how do I adjust my delivery schedule, snooze, change or cancel my subscription?

Can I track my shipment?
Yes. Log into My Account so you can track all orders and view my order history.
What should I do if my order is missing or something is wrong?
If you didn’t receive an item you ordered, or if you received a product different from the one that you ordered, please contact us and we’ll take care of it.

What is the return policy?
If you are not satisfied with your order, we will gladly offer an exchange or refund on products within 30 days of purchase from restorativeelements.com (minus the cost of shipping).

Where does Restorative Elements ship and how long does it take?
We ship within the United States, including Alaska, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii. Stay tuned for any global launches by following @restorative_elements. It typically takes 5-7 business days to receive your order from the order date if you choose ground shipping. Two-day expedited shipping is also available. You can track your order within My Account.
